WOOD has always been an essential part in human existence. From small carpentry, tools, furniture, cabinetry, and accessories, growing to providing us with fuel and shelter, then to houses, wagons, ships, railways, the human appetite for wood being the oldest material has never diminished. This is due to the nature of wood being the most versatile, friendly durable, and natural beauty look present.

HOWEVER, in the past century, the volume of timber harvested exceeded the volume of timber growth. Over the next few decades, as population increases, our consumption of wood is expected to double. In the past years, the world had asked the question: If we consume the wood the way we have, will there be enough wood?

WE REMAIN OPTIMISTIC. Not that we suggest to consume the way we have, but rather that first fact pleasant to be reminded is that trees grow and wood is a renewable resource.
The civilization, primarily the timber stakeholders, has tried to overcome this question with technology. We developed the technology of composite products made possible by adhesive technology. Then next, the engineered products are introduced over and over.

Still owing gratitude to the scientist that made them possible, but in the future, we believe that better intelligent forest management is imperative. Along with the environmental policy, forest management, legal compliances, and technology, SERIOUS COMMITMENT must address our future actions. We must be able to adopt new ways of managing our forest and using the timber we grow. We always suggest that we should not ask “SHALL WE USE OUR FOREST?” but rather “HOW SHALL WE USE OUR FOREST?”

Under traditional milling practice, only one third of the tree found its way into the final product. Now, not only that we want to reduce waste, but we feel compelled to use the entire tree, involving more efficient technology to process the conversion.

THIS IS WHAT WE DO AT PT. TANJUNG TIMBERINDO INDUSTRY TO INCREASE THE VALUE OF THE FOREST:

1.

We see the needs and wisdom of experiences to implement intelligent forest management.

2.

We efficiently control our log cutting and timber milling production to get maximum yield.

3.

We introduce new and secondary species.

4.

We explore a new, different, changing technology to create more downstream product.

For those who understand, it has never been stone or bronze or iron or even space age. It has always been wood age from beginning.
