At Ripples Montessori we have more than 10 years experience directing and guiding children through their early development. 

According to Dr Maria Montessori every child has a natural and latent talent to develop physical and intellectual skills on his own and at his own pace when given the right environment. Our carefully prepared environment provides your child with the right materials to arouse the curiosity of his inquiring mind.

Our curriculum covers the following:

Practical Life Skills
We encourage exercises to develop fine motor skills and use of materials (such as cups, saucers, teaspoon) to develop the child’s skill and confidence in manipulating his environment. We reinforce good social behavior and etiquette. For example how to greet someone, how to shake hands and when to say please, sorry or thank you.

Sensorial Development
Children play and interact with sensorial materials to develop the ability to classify, distinguish, explore and reason.

Languages
Sensorial materials connect sounds to symbols progressively leading to alphabet, words, sentences, story telling and play-acting. English phonics are taught to encourage reading. Han Yu Pin Yin, Chinese rhymes and Nursery songs are taught to encourage Chinese language development.

Mathematics
By allowing children to freely manipulate concrete materials with concentration and repetition, they can easily move into abstraction and develop a love for mathematics.

Cultural Development
We advocate a holistic approach to a child education. Topics like biology, geography, science and general knowledge are encouraged.

Academic Achievement
The child has to adapt to his culture and society at large. In Ripples Montessori we see the need to prepare the child for his next progressive learning phase especially for primary school education. We prepare learning materials and activities to generate the child’s interest in primary school subject matters.

Social Development
At Ripples Montessori we place equal emphasis on non- academic development and the child’s character development. Each child has the potential to be a caring, independent and responsible citizen of the world at large.
